It’s not that we ever leave things to the end; not that we ever– no, never!– find ourselves with too little time to get it all done.
News flash: the elves are not going to make the dessert for you. But in about 20 minutes of prep time and another 25 in the oven, you will be the proud bearer of this gorgeous dessert. Or, for pictures and links to more of my incredibly simple desserts, go to the bottom of the page.

Apple Galette with Cranberries
Serve as is or topped with caramel sauce and/or ice cream.
2 pounds Golden Delicious apples (4 large apples)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1 ready-to-bake prepared crust, such as Pillsbury
1 egg, lightly beaten
- Preheat the oven to 425. Coat a baking sheet pan with cooking spray.
- Peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Toss with the cinnamon, sugar, lemon juice and cranberries.
- Roll the crust out on a floured surface to a diameter of 12 to 13 inches. Transfer to the baking sheet pan. Leaving a 2-inch perimeter free, place the apple mixture on the crust. Fold the edges in over the apple, pleating the crust as you go.
- Brush the egg over the pie crust dough and bake in the center of the oven until the crust is golden and sounds hollow when tapped, about 25 minutes. Let cool before serving.

I made your shrimp and snap pease dish for dinner monday night. it was so easy – it has just become a weekly staple. And the cost is reasonable as well.
